I will overwhelm 'legitimate boxer' Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer will face Jake Paul in an eight-bout contest which will be streamed in real-time on Netflix.

Briton Joshua said he will "dominate completely" the American and "defeat" his opponent as the combatants came face-to-face to build hype for the upcoming bout.

Ex two-time unified heavyweight champion Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, theoretically, a huge mismatch - at Miami's Kaseya Center on December 19th.

Boxer's Attitude

"I plan to break his face and hurt his body. My goal is to show my superiority," the British boxer, 35 years old, stated.

"I will dominate him completely. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I intend to genuinely try to hurt him. That's my intention."

Civil Interaction

In spite of these statements, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - normally known for his theatrics - shared friendly words and maintained decorum with each other.

Jake Paul instead targeted ex Joshua's opponent Francis Ngannou and called him "ridiculous" after Ngannou turned down a fight offer.

Targeting Fury

Joshua, in the meantime, targeted UK opponent Tyson Fury - and rejected a large bet 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul win.

"Jake Paul outshines Tyson Fury - he's present here," Joshua said.

"I acknowledge that."

Legitimate Opponent

In spite of declaring he will punish Paul, Joshua chose not to talk badly about his opponent's pugilistic talent.

"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he remarked.

Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has mainly fought MMA fighters or faded names since becoming pro.

He lost to British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.

Commercial Attraction

Still, the inexperienced fighter is still one of the sport's greatest money-making draws, frequently receiving huge earnings.

Forecast and Belief

The 28-year-old anticipated a stoppage in the fourth or fifth round and asserted he would derail the much-anticipated match between Joshua and Fury, which is reportedly in the works for two years from now.

"The next fight will be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Paul said.

Size Difference

As the two fighters participated in the usual stare-down, with their height and weight contrast clearly visible, it drove home just how unlikely this complete situation is - and how astonishing it is that the fight is really going ahead.
